OVERVIEW:

The Bally Total Fitness AIDS Rides FREE Spin Training Program is for all registered AIDS Riders.  This program will produce quantifiable results and transcend you as an individual to a higher understanding of your mind, your body, your training.  It allows you to realize YOU ARE POSSIBLE!  The driving component of this program is YOU and is meant to be more similar to coaching than the traditional Group Fitness classes.  This will be YOUR journey!

ABOUT THE STUDENTS:

Johnny G spin classes are geared towards all students of all levels.  Some students may be avid spinners and others may never have taken a spin class in their entire life.  We do not expect you to be young, an athlete, or an expert.  The classes are for ordinary people.  Whether you are 18 or as old as 80+, all registered riders are welcome.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:

All of the instructors for this incredible journey are Johnny G spin certified (a requirement to be a Bally Total Fitness spin instructor).  They will be there to be your coaches.  These instructors are going beyond their normal paid classes to volunteer their time, skills, and services.  Some of them have been involved with the AIDS Ride in one form or another.  Check out their picture and profile:  Instructors Profile Page.

Granted the instructors are there to be your guides and coaches, it is YOU, the rider, who makes it all possible.  This is YOUR journey, and you will get out of it what you put into it.

WHAT IS SPIN?:

One of the best ways to train for any of the AIDS Rides is to take spin classes.  Spin classes are a total mind / body workout on a stationary Johnny G Schwinn Spinner bike.  It helps one to focus on mastering the concepts of riding:  proper biking form, pedal stroke / cadence, heart rate, hydration, breathing, and focusing to name a few.

You will

  • build an aerobic base for the AIDS Ride(s)
  • get individual attention in a group setting
  • have a higher understanding of training for results / performance
  • challenge your personal limits
  • prepare for a journey of a lifetime
  • meet others involved with the AIDS Rides
  • motivate other riders and have them motivate you
  • get a great workout!
  • get FREE parking!

NOTE:  If capacity permits, there may be non-AIDS Riders in the classes as well.  These would be actual Bally Total Fitness members.
